I am addicted to Slow Clay Centre. I’ve been a student there for over 6 years, I’ve lost count. Being there is being in my ‘happy place’ (sorry for the schmulch!). Headed by Jane Sawyer, potter/artist of great repute, her work sitting in private and public collections, treats her students with respect, a deep enthusiasm for their clay aspirations cocooned within an articulate teaching style based on years of artistic practice, technical knowledge and an abiding passion for her vocation and students. Backed up by fabulous teachers particularly Pilar Rogas who teaches handbuilding, she is my mentor, she has encouraged, guided me firmly and nurtured my chaotic train of thought. I’ve also attended many Master classes by extraordinary ceramic artists which they offer all through the year. I recommend Slow Clay Centre without hesitation.,

Thank you so much for your generous words Virginia. We love working with students such as you who have so much passion for clay and your concepts and ideas. This gives us purpose too!

One of my favourite aspects of Slow Clay Centre is the opportunity to learn from a variety of teachers. In the 4 years I have been a student I have had classes with Grace Brown, Alana Casey, Judith Roberts Mary-Lou Pittard and Jane Sawyer. Each teacher has challenged me in different ways, and encouraged me to find my own unique style.
